Inspired by a paper presented at the 2005 Directory Experts Conference by Wook Lee of HP on the natural progression of our business as architects and managers of Active Directory from seeing it all as Tree's and Forest's and toward viewing it more as an Orchard where order not chaos is the natural state.
I can highly recommend attending any talk / presentation by Wook that you get a chance to attend; he is both knowledgeable, friendly and possess a truly awesome knowledge of Active Directory and Windows in general.
My intention is to present my experiences and discoveries from working with Active Directory specifically and Windows generally.
The standard caveats apply: these are my personal views and not those of my employer, while I believe this information is accurate when I write the article all of IT is a fast moving world and updates, service packs and different configurations all play a part in the behaviour of any complex system such as Active Directory. Please always test, experiment and prove to yourself that any change not just my suggestions do what you want before going live.
